1995年生まれ。パプアニューギニア出身。
サックス奏者・作曲家。2018年より東京を拠点に国内外で活動中。
サックス一本と空間のみを利用した90分間の独奏、パフォーマンス毎に変容し続けるエレクトロニクスのソロセット、ライブの度に新しく書き下ろす長尺の作曲作品の発表等のソロ活動に加え、様々なコンテクストで演奏や録音を行っている。
以下のアーティストと共演/録音多数：石若駿、石橋英子、ジム・オルーク、山本達久、betcover!!、Dos Monos、Geordie Greep、浦上想起、岡田拓郎、大友良英、etc.
2025年9月に最新アルバム『Dokusō, YūYū』をLPでリリース。

Kei Matsumaru
Saxophonist, Composer.
Having grown up in a remote village in the highlands of Papua New Guinea, his time there has always been the main source of inspiration for his music.
After his studies in the US, he has been based in Tokyo since 2018.
In addition to his 90min acoustic solo performances “Dokusō”, his ever-changing electronic solo sets, and live performances of his long-form compositions, Kei regularly performs and records with various bands and artists including: Eiko Ishibashi, Jim O’Rourke, Dos Monos, betcover!!, Geordie Greep, Fabiano do Nascimento, Urakami Souki, Shun Ishiwaka, Otomo Yoshihide, Takuro Okada, Hakushi Hasegawa, etc.
Kei’s acoustic solo saxophone album “Dokusō, YūYū” was most recently released on vinyl in 2025.
