南ロンドン・ジャズ・シーン最重要アーティスト、ジョー・アーモン・ジョーンズ。ロバート・グラスパーの登場以降、アメリカでは、ケンドリック・ラマーやフライング・ロータスが自身の作品に積極的にジャズを取り入れ、カマシ・ワシントンやサンダーキャットといったニュー・ヒーローが台頭しているが、ジョー・アーモン・ジョーンズやその周辺の音楽は、そのUKからの回答として位置づけることができるだろう。
このシーンの特徴と同じく、彼の作風はジャズをベースに、アフロ、レゲエ、ダブ、ソウル、ファンク、ハウス、テクノ、ヒップホップ、ブロークンビーツなどを折衷した、極めて雑食的な魅力に富んでいる。エズラ・コレクティブのメンバーとして活躍する一方、2017年にはMaxwell Owinと共作で『Idiom』をリリース。2018年にはソロ名義で、Giles PetersonのBrownswoodからアルバム『Starting Today』をリリースし、世界中から注目を集めている彼が、フル・バンドでの来日を果たす。
